ABOUT NCALI

Our Story

Founded more than twenty years ago, the National Capital Area Locksmith Institute (NCALI) was instrumental in the formation and implementation of the locksmith training program at Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) in Largo, Maryland. Since its inception, NCALI has worked to support the program's faculty and complement student learning.

Officially a club of Prince George’s Community College, NCALI provides students and graduates of the locksmith program with opportunities to continue their education and professional development. The Institute brings together students, graduates, working locksmiths, manufacturers, distributors, and other industry professionals from throughout the National Capital Region to exchange knowledge and learn about new products, industry developments, and professional practices.

Through its continued commitment to locksmith education and professional development, NCALI seeks to promote integrity, professionalism, and public trust in the locksmith profession while serving as a resource for locksmith professionals, community businesses, and residents seeking knowledgeable and qualified locksmith services.

NCALI & Prince George’s Community College

NCALI has a longstanding relationship with Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) and its locksmith training program. The Institute was instrumental in helping establish the program and continues to support locksmith education and professional development at the College.

NCALI provides a bridge between formal locksmith education and the working profession by bringing students and graduates together with experienced locksmiths, manufacturers, distributors, and other industry professionals.

Through meetings, technical presentations, educational resources, mentorship, and professional networking, NCALI helps members continue learning beyond the classroom and remain connected to developments within the locksmith and physical-security industries.

NCALI is a club of Prince George’s Community College. Membership, Institute activities, and NCALI member resources are administered through NCALI, while PGCC administers its locksmith courses, registration, academic requirements, and course schedules.

What NCALI Does

NCALI supports the continued development of locksmith professionals by providing opportunities to meet, network, learn, and grow throughout their careers.

The Institute's activities include:

  • Continuing Education — Technical presentations, manufacturer education, product demonstrations, and professional-development opportunities.

  • Professional Networking — Regular meetings that connect students, graduates, working locksmiths, manufacturers, distributors, and other industry professionals.

  • Mentorship & Workgroups — Residential, Commercial, and Automotive Workgroups where members can exchange knowledge, discuss real-world challenges, and support one another's professional development.

  • Technical Resources — Member access to educational videos, learning aids, industry resources, product information, and emerging technologies.

  • Industry Connections — Opportunities to interact with manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, and other organizations serving the locksmith and physical-security industries.

  • Professional Community — A forum for strengthening professional relationships, sharing experience, and supporting the continued development of the locksmith profession in the National Capital Region.
